CENTRAL SECTION
Northern Section | North Central Section | Southern Section

In order to complete the monumental task of constructing the 2,770km Overland Telegraph line within the 18 month time limit, the project was subdivided into 4 sections:

The Central Section of the line was constructed by government contractors and personally overseen by Charles Todd himself. It traversed 994km of arid, desert country that was, at that time, unknown to European settlers.
