Introduction
The Overland Telegraph was an extraordinary feat of exploration, engineering and construction which saw a single-strand telegraph line constructed across 3200 km of inhospitable country known to Aboriginal communities and only a handful of Europeans. It was completed in 1872 despite appalling construction conditions including drought, flood, blistering heat, lack of water and illness. For the first time, the colonies of Australia were linked with each other and the rest of the world.

You are taken back in time and are actually a part of this extraordinary, life time event. Decide on a role of one of the characters of the time eg.workers on the line, an aboriginal in the remote region of Australia or a new settler/land owner. Through out the short time you are taken back in time you will be required to find out what it was like as your character and also investigate and collect information such as social life, work, flora, government, environmental etc.

Before starting the webquest you need to investigate and complete the Knowledge Hunt which will start you on the journey and extend your knowledge and understanding about Federation, Communication and the Overland Telegraph Line.
