Introduction
The
Connecting the Continent online event between June 18
- July 1 will be an exciting, innovative, creative, live event
with a significant national and international audience. The
educational component will feature many exciting interactive
activities for students, schools and their local communities
developing and expanding students' experience of online communication
and creating an interactive learning environment. Students,
particularly those between Years 4 - 10 can begin to investigate
federation and telecommunication issues. To find out more including

Registration
Schools are
invited to register NOW and become involved in an event
unlike that ever held in Australia. By registering you automatically
put your school in the running for winning prizes in several
online competitions. Teachers can incorporate the project into
their teaching programs, utilising aspects that suit the skills
and abilities of their students and their particular learning
area. To
register click on the registration
link, then complete and submit the online form. An information
kit with more details about the project will then be sent to
you.

Calendar
Check the
online event calendar for important
dates in the Connecting the Continent program.
Dates and times for the web-based discussion forums and chat
will be advised on the calendar and through the email discussion
list.
Email Discussion
List
You have been
automatically subscribed to an email discussion list using the
teacher email address supplied to us on registration. The discussion
list can be used to share information and ideas during the project.
To send or respond to the discussion list, send an e-mail to
connect@edna.edu.au.
Any message sent to the list will be read by all subscribers
so messages should be appropriate for a group to read and respond.

Information Kit
You will receive
an information kit in the post after registration. It will give
more instructions on how you can use the project in your teaching
and learning program and promotional materials we hope you will
display in your classroom.
Lesson Plans
The Connecting the Continent educational project team have put together
several exciting lesson
plans built around the South Australian Curriculum Standards
and Accountability Framework (SACSA) that are offered to Australian
and international teachers to use in their classrooms. South
Australian teachers are invited to check the links below to
precisely match lesson plans developed with the SACSA framework.
